Artist’s note
As a professional painter, I approach photography the same way I approach a canvas — paying close attention to light, color balance, and composition. During this session, I focused on natural movement and soft light to keep the images calm, honest, and visually timeless.
The story behind this session
This pet photoshoot took place on a beautiful late-November Sunday afternoon in Spijkenisse Park near Rotterdam — a location surrounded by forest paths, a calm lake, and small wooden bridges.
The weather felt like a small autumn gift: changing clouds with sudden moments of sunlight, creating soft, natural light and a relaxed, cinematic atmosphere throughout the session.
The shoot lasted two hours and felt more like a long walk than a traditional photoshoot. From the very beginning, everything flowed naturally. The couple arrived together with their joyful and energetic dog, and we simply followed the rhythm of the walk — running along the paths, stopping to hug and laugh, crossing the bridge, playing near the water, and enjoying the moment together.
There was no pressure to pose or perform. Instead, the focus was on movement, connection, and real emotions. The dog was not just present, but actively part of every moment — jumping, exploring, and bringing even more life into the images.
Spijkenisse Park is a wonderful location for pet and couple photoshoots in the Rotterdam area. Its mix of open spaces, trees, water, and soft natural light allows for images that feel honest, warm, and timeless.
This session is a perfect example of how beautiful photographs can emerge when people — and their pets — are simply allowed to be themselves.

We’ve had a photoshoot with Natalia in Spijkenisse and it was such a wonderful experience! The whole process was so joyful and fun, Natalia is very professional and talented, she was guiding us and our dog called Gin with a lot of passion and patience.
